On the nose, this wine delivers delicious aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and elegant expressions of lavender alongside a touch of vanilla. Allomi Cabernet is concentrated upon entry with dense, but well-integrated tannins that provide a round, plush mouthfeel. Layers of juicy black fruit, notably black plum and black cherry, lead to elements of bittersweet chocolate supported by a subtle oak spice that adds to the personality of the wine and reminds us why this is one of our most popular Napa offerings. Earthy flavors enhance the fruit flavors in this wine, especially with foods such as herb roasted chicken, grilled pork, caramelized onions, eggplant, sautéed greens, roasted potatoes or vegetables and aged Jack and Gouda cheese.

This wine delivers a robustly rich experience of lengthy appeal. Blended with 12% Petite Sirah, among other varieties, and aged in American oak, the palate shows a wealth of black cherry, cassis and blackberry around toasted oak and a hint of clove.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Allomi, coming from Pope Valley, was aged for 18 months in some old American oak, but all the new oak (25%) was French. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it features fresh, crunchy black fruit notes of black currants, blackberries and fresh plums with touches of menthol, spice box and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling black fruit and a lovely velvety texture with a lively burst of freshness coming through on the spice-laced finish. 80,000 cases were made.

Modest sassafras, cherry and raspberry notes are mostly up front, turning slightly airy through the finish, with a lingering herb note. Drink now.
