This 2015 Grenache came from a steep hillside vineyard east of St. Helena - the grapes are small, which is very unusual for Grenache, resulting in a more deeply colored and concentrated wine. The medium ruby color leads to aromas of pretty, lifted and vibrant fruit. Berry flavors (raspberry and strawberry) are foremost, with nice ripe richness and depth. Soft across the palate with delicate tannins and a subtle white pepper spicy note. A beautiful example of this varietal grown in a dramatic location. Delicious upon release and will continue to evolve and improve with a bit more time in the bottle. Suggested pairings -Paella, hearty pasta dishes, burgers, sausage, or wild duck. Enjoy!
